Kelly Rae Band featured event

Golden Horseshoe

From Tomorrowland Terrace, Pacific Wharf, Flo's Diner in Cars Land, to Big Thunder Ranch, we have made our rounds at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. This past week we had the honor of performing a private event at the historic Golden Horseshoe!  Opened in 1955 with several other original attractions at Disneyland Park, the "Saloon" is located in Frontierland and has a picturesque view of the Rivers of America, New Orleans Square , and part of Critter Country.

The Golden Horseshoe was also where Walt Disney and Wife Lillian celebrated their 30th anniversary with the debut performance of the original Golden Horseshoe Revue. Walt kept a private box—now public—upstairs to the right of the stage (as seen in this photo) so he could watch the show whenever he felt like it.

With over 50,000 performances logged since then, the Golden Horseshoe Revue was at one time “the world’s longest-running live stage show,” according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Currently guests enjoy live performances by Laughing Stock Co. C’mon and join Mayor Sam J. McGillicuddy, his daughter Sally Mae, and Sheriff Clem Clodhopper in their side-splittin’ shenanigans!

Our 6 piece band is scaled down to a Quartet for the perfect fit on this iconic stage.
Many things have changed over the years at Disneyland but one thing that has remained the unchanged is Frontierland's Golden Horseshoe Saloon.

Denim To Diamonds

This past Thursday, March 26th we were featured at a DENIM TO DIAMONDS glittery evening of Western-themed fun to benefit the education and outreach programs of the McCallum Theatre Institute at the Regency Ranch in Rancho Mirage.

Guests indulged in a scrumptious dinner, line dancing, and an array of Western-themed activities in various Regency Ranch buildings and locales including a hotel, jail, saloon and church! Everyone wore their best denim, sequins, chaps, Stetsons, cowboy boots, bandanas and LOTS OF DIAMONDS! Over $300,000 was raised to bring arts exposure and training to students and schools throughout the Coachella Valley.

Once again my BOYS brought their "A GAME" and we got great feedback.

"I want to thank you again for a wonderful performance. You and your band were just sensational. We were so fortunate to have you there. Hope we connect again. The emails have been non stop with words of accolade for your Music. I'm the newest member of your fan club. Hugs to you and your guys."

Salute to Heroes

Last Month we were honored to play at the 2014 Coalition to Salute America's Heroes Road to Recovery Conference & Tribute at the Lowes Coronado resort. The mission of the Coalition To Salute America's Heroes is to help severely-wounded veterans and families of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom recover from their injuries and illnesses. In honor of Veterans Day this Tuesday I would like to share some photos from this memorable night.

Thank you for serving our Country and protecting our Freedom!

Fight With Grace

We had the honor of playing the "Fight With Grace Goes Country" event held at The Turnip Rose Promenade and Gardens benefitting Orange Coast Memorial Breast Cancer Center. We shared the stage today with Deana Martin, daughter of iconic entertainer Dean Martin also in the photo her Husband/Producer John Griffeth. The band accompanied Deana on the song her father sang in the 1959 film RIO BRAVO, " My Rifle, My Pony, and Me". The event was hosted by legendary Quarterback Vince Ferragamo and his Vince Ferragamo Foundation. What a thrill to be part of this successful afternoon and for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. My Mom Linda Eilers a 14 year Breast Cancer survivor was also present to share in the festivities.

Three Is Company

Following the increasing popularity of the television show MTV Unplugged during the 1990s, acoustic (though in most cases still electrically amplified) performances by musicians who usually rely on electronic instruments became commonly referred to as "unplugged" performances. And today CMT's acoustic music series Unplugged showcases the work of today's top country artists and introduces the stars of tomorrow. During our monthly appearance at The Ranch we dedicate a portion of our 1st set to not only show off the variety of instuments in unplugged fashion, but do what we are known to do best... harmonize.

Friday night we had the opportunity to scale down our 6 piece band to 3 at Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch. This was a reminder of the special sounds a stripped down trio can really bring. With nothing but raw vocals and unplugged instruments, there's no place to hide. My bassist Cliff Saunders and guitar player Art Holland's single acoustic instuments were pickin' the perfect melodies for our three part harmony that led the guests to "whistle a happy tune."

Reunited and It Feels So Good

Feels like home when I have the opportunity to play with Mick Taras, guitarist extraordinaire and long time friend. This reunion of melodies and memories took place at the ocean view St. Regis Club 19  in Monarch Beach. Hard to believe this is my "job" and after 20 years I am still counting my blessings. A special thank you to another long time supporter Mike Steffens at Essence Entertainment  for including us at this posh, high profile, corporate cocktail party.
